The Washtenaw County Elections Department is offering a new service on their website for voters interested in voting absentee.

Voters can sign-up to receive an absentee voter ballot application by mail prior to every election.  Director of Elections Ed Golembiewskisays voters would still need to take certain steps.

"It’s still incumbent upon them to return the application after they sign it and complete it, so that they can actually get their ballot."

Thirty-three percent of voters in the county voted through an absentee ballot for the March presidential primary election.
