It’s a "yes" to more and better parks in Pittsfield Township. Voters yesterday approved a 10-year, nearly half-mill tax to improve amenities and access to existing parks.
Mandy Grewal is Pittsfield Township Supervisor. She says the township will now collect roughly $900,000 annually. She says that will allow the township to meet the priorities on non-motorized pathways, as set forth by the community.
"That's definitely going to be at the top of the list to make sure that we extend this network throughout the township."
Grewal says more public input sessions are being planned, and the tax will provide the necessary funding to create new parks in the underserved northeast and northwest portions of the township.
