POP X Art Festival Opens In Ann Arbor

The ten-day, outdoor POP X art festival started today at Liberty Plaza Park in downtown Ann Arbor.

A recording of water streaming is the first thing you hear when you enter the one square foot pavilion sponsored by the Ann Arbor Women Artists.  The pop-up room is decorated with cupcakes, fruit and other goodies you would find at a picnic.

Artist Mary Murphy helped put the exhibit together out of paper mache, steel and glass.  Murphy says the life of an artist could be lonely while working on pieces so she enjoyed working with other artists on this project.

Seven other pavilions with themes such as race, homelessness and religion make up the other displays.
