The LPGAVolvikChampionship in Ann Arbor is attracting thousands of golf aficionados.  And as Memorial Day approaches, veterans are being offered resources at the event.

Crowds cheer as players swing away at the tournament.  Among the crowds are military veterans who got in for free thanks to a partnership between the tournament and DTEEnergy.

To help veterans and people in general who suffer from depression, the National Network of Depression Centers has a booth at the Travis Pointe Country Club where the event is taking place.  Pat Rinvelt, who is executive director for the NNDC says an average of 22 veterans commit suicide every day so providing support to prevent that is essential.

To make the experience more comfortable for veterans, a military pavilion is being made available to them to watch the tournament.  Air Force veteran Jimmy Dowsett, who is in a wheelchair, says he appreciates the gesture, because it shows that people care about those who have devoted their lives to protect our country.
