Three File For Ward Two Appointment

Bob Eccles

Three people filed paperwork by Monday's 5 p.m. deadline to be considered for appointment to Ypsilanti's vacant Ward two City Council seat.

Council member Susan Moeller resigned to spend more time with elderly family members.

Beth Bashert, Gail Wolkoff and Anne Brown will now be interviewed by City Council at a special meeting on December 9.

Beth Bashert is a community activist who works at Dunning Toyota.

Gail Wolkoff is a former teacher who's involved in youth activism.  She's also secretary of the Jim Toy Community Center board.

And Anne Brown is a health educator, and district manager for State Representative David Rutledge.

Ypsilanti City Council will appoint someone to fill the remainder of Susan Moeller's term at its December 16 meeting.
