Tornado Warning Test In Washtenaw County

WikiCommons

Washtenaw County will participate in a state-wide tornado warning test tomorrow.

The National Weather Service will be conducting the drill at 1:30 PM on April 13th.  Marc Breckenridge, director of emergency services for Washtenaw County, says no sirens are expected to go off in this area.  The drill will, however, trigger theNational Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration weather radio system and send a message to all broadcasters and emergency management personnel about the test.

Washtenaw County currently sees one tornado on average every other year.  That increased from one tornado every three years during the last decade.
