Townie Street Party Kickstarts 2017 Ann Arbor Art Fair Week

Art Fair Week kicks off in Ann Arbor tonight with the Townie Street Party.

This is the 13th year for the Townie Street Party. held as a way of thanking Ann Arbor residents in advance of 400,000 people coming in to the city for the four-day Art Fair, which begins on Thursday.

The party happens on North University between Thayer and Fletcher on Ingalls Mall and begins at 5 PM and lasts until 9:30 PM.

There will be food and live music and activities for the entire family, from making shadow sculptures at the Hands-On Museum, or to an instrument petting zoo sponsored by the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra.

There's even a VIP area and private terrace at the Townie Street Party with a $50 "Friend of the Fair donation."
