The big game between Michigan State University and the University of Michigan will take place this Saturday at the Big House in Ann Arbor.  The rivalry between these two schools is no secret.  So students at U of M are protecting something very important to them on campus.

Students listen to music and talk as they sit around two leather sofas and a few chairs at U of M's Diag.

In the middle of it all is the M on the ground.

Alex Tarowski from Theta Xi fraternity is helping guard the M from MSU students. He explains to WEMU that if the M gets painted over with green paint it would affect school spirit for the rest of the week and even at the game.

Students will guard 24 hours a day until Saturday's game.
