Washtenaw County Board Approves Relief Funds

The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners has approved $3.2 million in COVID-19 relief.  

Commissioner Jason Maciejewskisays part of the funds will be used to purchase personal protection equipment for healthcare workers.  Helping the homeless is another priority.

"We have some need for housing for our homeless population as well to make sure that the virus is not spreading throughout the homeless population"

Maciejewski says that, as of now, they don't plan to allocate additional funds for COVID-19 response in the near future, but that may change depending on how long the pandemic lasts.
