Washtenaw County Dental Clinic Gives Patients Something To Smile About

It's been nearly a year since the Washtenaw County Dental Clinic for low income and uninsured patients opened for business in Ypsilanti.

Organizers of the clinic, which offers mostly routine dental services, wants to get the word out that there is room for even more patients than they've already served in the first year of operation.

Washtenaw County health officer EllenRabinowitz says the clinic was several years in the making and done in response to huge gaps for low income, uninsured and Medicaid recipients.  She says the dental clinic is "state-of-the-art," and there is room for 6,000 patients and 15,000 dental visits a year.

The Washtenaw County Dental Clinic is a community effort involving Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, TheWashtenawHealth PlanMy Community Dental Clinics, the county Board of Commissioners, and WashtenawCounty Public Health.  The clinic is located in the St. Joseph Mercy Haab building, 111 North Huron Street in downtownYpsilanti.
