It's National Influenza Vaccination Week, and the Washtenaw County Health Department says it's not too late to get your flu shot.

Last year, over 200 people in Washtenaw County were hospitalized for flu-related cases.  Four people died.

Washtenaw County Health Department spokespersonSusan Cerniglia says the highest rates of illness are in late December through February.

"The weather gets colder, there's more group gathering, there's more opportunity to spread germs..."

Washtenaw County has one of the best overall vaccination rates in Michigan with 37% compared to the state average of 25%.

The county's health department is now scheduling appointments.
