Washtenaw Expands County ID Program

Washtenaw County

Washtenaw County has expanded its services when it comes to obtaining County ID Cards.

You can now apply for a Washtenaw County ID Card Monday through Friday at the county clerk's office.

County officials say that about 40,000 residents in Washtenaw are missing out on county services because they don't have proper identification.

In addition to making it easier to use those services, Ed Golembiewski, Chief Deputy Clerk, says it may soon have another benefit.  A non-profit organization is working on getting businesses to offer incentives to shoppers who present the card when they make a purchase.

The new schedule added an extra two days of operation.  It will cost you $25 to get the ID.  Washtenaw County residents fourteen years of age and older may apply for the card.
