Ypsilanti Community Schools has a new food distribution program it’s offering for families during the pandemic.
On October 9th, the district will launch a program called Grab and Go Food Delivery for families to pick-up free meals for their children at designated school bus stops. Tiffany Houston is the director of food service for the district and says the meals will help feed over 2,500 students who are learning virtually from home this fall.
Tiffany Houston: It’s a new program that is designed to assist parents who may have limited or no transportation in order to pick-up school meals.
The deliveries will take place every Friday from now until December, and you don’t have to register with the district ahead of time to pick up food. For a list of bus stops that will be participating in the program, click here.
