Ypsilanti is moving closer to having a Neighborhood Enterprise Zone in the city.

City council members will vote on adopting a resolution for a Neighborhood Enterprise Zone, or NEZ.  The policy creates a tax incentive for homebuyers in a specific neighborhood.  Officials want to create the NEZ in the Southwest Gateway, where a portion of the Historic Southside is.

If council members approve the resolution at Tuesday night's meeting, the NEZ could begin in May.
