Ypsilanti Receives Facade Restoration Grant

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation has awarded $300,000 to the Ypsilanti Downtown Development Authority

The funds will be used for facade restoration projects for businesses in the downtown area.  Ypsilanti Downtown Development Authority Director Joe Meyers said the grant could help attract investors.

"If you find out that you can get up to half of your facade fixed and the grant isn't a maximum of $2,500, that helps people's performance when they're looking to develop," said Meyers.

Ypsilanti currently has a pipeline of 12 buildings requiring facade repairs.
