This week, host Patrick Campion sits down with Beth Currans and Alaina Stuard from the Women's and Gender Studies Department to discuss the upcoming Disability Arts and Culture Symposium, and a new minor (Critical Disabilities Studies) being offered here at EMU.


Ypsilanti City Council tonight will consider a proposal to form an Arts Commission.  Twice before, council has tabled such resolutions.  89.1 WEMU's David Fair and Deb Polich of The Arts Alliance want to know will tonight be the night?  In this week's 'creative:impact,' Ypsilanti mayor Beth Bashert discusses the city's goals and aspirations when it comes to the arts and the role an arts commission would play.

For many arts and cultural organizations, May is "grants month."  The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs' annual grant deadline is June 1st, and many are scrambling to gain access to available funding.  Scott Rosencrans makes a living winning access to that grant money.  He is owner of Grants Resource and joins WEMU's David Fair and Deb Polich of The Arts Alliance for a look at the process and importance of grant writing in this week's installment of 'creative:impact.'
