This week, the U.S. Senate passed a $1 trillion infrastructure bill with rare, bipartisan support. The U.S. House is expected to pass the bill, but it will not have bipartisan support for a $3.5 trillion budget for the coming fiscal year. 12th District Representative Debbie Dingell joined WEMU's David Fair to discuss where we are and what happens next.

The Ann Arbor District Library is in the process of improving its WiFi access points at branch location parking lots to better serve the community.

The Washtenaw County Broadband Task Force is in the process of installing seven cellular hotspots in the county to provide better internet connection to local rural residents during COVID-19.

The Washtenaw Intermediate School District is continuing to work with other local school districts to improve the remote learning experience for students throughout the county.

The Washtenaw Intermediate School District says four of its districts experienced temporary issues with their internet connection on Tuesday as students began their virtual learning from home.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer says the doors to school buildings are locked for the rest of this school year.  This is not a surprise.  It just makes permanent an earlier order that temporarily closed schools.  That was to buy time to come up with plans to address the rapid spread of the coronavirus.  But the governor says it won’t be safe anytime soon for students and teachers to return to school.  We have more from Rick Pluta.
