Race For Michigan Governor Set For November

Republican Bill Schuette and Democrat Gretchen Whitmer will battle it out for the governor’s seat in November.  Libertarians also had a choice for governor on the primary ticket for the first time in Michigan’s history.

The Republican candidates for governor have been battling it out for months.  There’s more money being spent on the Republican primary than recent years– and it’s being used to help the candidates go after each other.

Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley is the fourth Republican running for governor to file petition signatures to appear on the primary ballot.  He wants to succeed Governor Rick Snyder.

Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley surprised no one when he announced Tuesday he would seek the Republican nomination for governor and try to become the first Number Two in Michigan’s executive office in a half-century to ascend to Number One.
