A Black Students Matter protest will be held Saturday, October 24th at 1 p.m. outside of Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor after a teacher was accused of creating a racial hostile environment for Black students.
The state Department of Civil Rights is now accepting complaints from people who say they’ve faced discrimination based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. It’s also getting ready to defend its right to do so.

Governor Rick Snyder is asking Congress to act to protect people from deportation who were brought to the country illegally as children. The governor was responding to President Trump’s announcement that the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program will end in six months.
