Walter Aguilar

University of Michigan Drum Major Walter Aguilar is a senior from Grand Rapids. He is the 56th drum major for the university marching band.

He talks with WEMU's Lisa Barry about the excitement of the upcoming rivalry game against Ohio State and the mixed feelings and emotions of this being the last home game experience for him and other senior band members.

The 39th annual Blood Battle blood drive between the University of Michigan and Ohio State is underway, but, as expected this year, with new safety guidelines because of COVID-19.

Dick Gaskill has been taking pictures of the University of Michigan football team and marching band since 1953 when he was a student and worked for the Michigan Daily.  He has only missed one home game in Ann Arbor in 62 years.

He talks about his many memories and photography experiences with 89.1 WEMU’S Lisa Barry.
