Ten state House Democrats yesterday linked arms during the Pledge of Allegiance in lieu of putting their hands over their hearts.  They say it was to show solidarity with NFL players and to protest a controversial Facebook post by the leader of the Michigan State Police.

After stops and starts, the state Legislature has adopted a bill to send $100 million to Flint to replace lead pipes.  The money is from the federal government, but had to be approved by state lawmakers.

Federal money to upgrade water systems is on a fast track toward Flint.  The state House has agreed to spend $100 million dollars from the EPA and kick in another $20 million from the state. 


Governor Rick Snyder Defends Flint Advisory Board

Governor Rick Snyder is defending a move by a board he appointed to oversee Flint.  The Receivership Transition Advisory Board (RTAB) has come under fire for revoking Flint’s ability to sue the state.

The state House and Senate have unanimously approved an emergency spending bill to help Flint address its water crisis.  It now goes to Governor Rick Snyder’s desk.
