Ann Arbor Summer Festival executive director Mike Michelon shared more information about opportunities for live performances for the upcoming Ann Arbor Summer Festival.

WEMU's Lisa Barry talks with Michelon about the opportunities created this year, which are different from a typical Summer Festival due to the ongoing pandemic.

Because most performance events must be planned well in advance, there will be no Top Of The Park events or indoor concerts as part of the Ann Arbor Summer Festival for the second year in a row, due to the ongoing pandemic.

WEMU's Lisa Barry talks with Summer Festival executive director Mike Michelon, who says they are planning to have some events to keep the spirit of the festival alive.

A few weeks after canceling ticketed events for the annual Ann Arbor Summer Festival, executive director Mike Michelon now revealed there will be no traditional Top Of The Park events either, due to coronavirus concerns.  He spoke with WEMU's Lisa Barry about how they are trying to envision some new activities to keep the popular summer event alive but in a different capacity, due to health concerns.

A local library, at least in Ann Arbor, is much more than just about books.  So, WEMU has partnered with the Ann Arbor District Library for “Beyond Books” talking about the many different events going on there.  WEMU’s Lisa Barry talks to Rich Reyti and Nicole Williams about “The Summer Game” and the many other activities they are hosting.

Ann Arbor Summer Festival Executive and Artistic Director Amy Nesbitt joined me Friday for a preview of the 2015 Top Of The Park schedule. The free Top Of The Park offerings and activities have grown remarkably over the years.

What began as little experiment with one band and free film screenings on top of a parking structure now encompasses a city block with two stages, a full variety of food vendors, family activities, exercise and wellness classes, Michigan craft beer tastings, family favorite films and state-of-the art acrobatic performances.

The Ann Arbor Summer Festival has announced the line up for the admission-free Top of the Park series! The festival’s 32nd season runs 6 nights per week, from June 12 – July 5, 2015.

One of Ann Arbor's biggest events is temporarily looking for a new home.  For only the second time in 32 years, the Ann Arbor Summer Festival's Top of the Park is moving.

A number of families received a pleasant surprise Tuesday evening when an anonymous donor passed out $100 bills to at least three vendors on food row at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival’s Top of the Park.

The Ann Arbor Summer Festival marks its 30th Anniversary this year. The annual celebration of music and entertainment is now in its final week for 2013. As this year's event winds down, we thought it a good time to look at the past, present and future of the festival. As WEMU's Wendy Wright discovered, the common thread has been, and will continue to be, a sense of community.
