A town hall meeting will be held Tuesday evening August 20th at Eastern Michigan University to address concerns over the man-made chemicals known as PFAS.  U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell from the 12th District is co-hosting the event with other local elected officials.  Dingell says that, while PFAS has been detected in the Huron River, the river is not the only concern.

A Town Hall on "Medicare For All" will be held in Ypsilanti on Saturday.  The panel discussion and audience Q & A will feature Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, State Representatives Yousef Rabhi and Ronnie Peterson, and State Senator Jeff Irwin.  Irwin joined WEMU's David Fair to discuss how the need for, and the barriers to, a path forward to national health care coverage.

12th Congressional District Representative Debbie Dingell is co-sponsor of the Medicare For All Act of 2019.  The bill has been introduced in Congress and is now getting hearings.  On Saturday, July 13th, the Dearborn Democrat will serve on a panel of lawmakers at a Town Hall on "Medicare for All" in Ypsilanti.  Dingell shared her perspective in a conversation with 89.1 WEMU's David Fair.

The cost of prescription drugs and health care is going up and, for many, is already out of reach.  53rd District State Representative Yousef Rabhi and U.S. Representative Debbie Dingell will host a public forum tonight to discuss what is being done in Lansing and Washington to address these issues.  Rabhi joined WEMU's David Fair to talk about what to expect for the upcoming forum.

The opioid epidemic is nationwide and increasing in severity.  That includes Washtenaw County and the state of Michigan.  Washtenaw County Sheriff Jerry Clayton, Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, and Republican Representative Tim Walberg will host a community awareness forum on the issue in Saline tonight.

On July 21st, WEMU partnered with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office and 12th District congressional representative Debbie Dingell for a public conversation on the relationship between law enforcement and the area's minority community. With over 500-people in attendance, not all questions were answered, but the panelists agreed to answer those in writing.
