An Ann Arbor woman is devastated and questioning why she should stay in the state now that Governor Rick Snyder says Michigan won't recognize her marriage that took place last weekend.
Snyder announced Wednesday the marriages were legal at the time but the federal appeals court stay means the ban now is back in effect so the couples won't be eligible for benefits offered married couples.
Amy McLoughlin thinks it's really disappointing.
McLoughlin says she doesn't care about the Governor or the Attorney General acknowledging her love but wants the same rights as her married heterosexual peers.
It's expected to take a year or more for the court to make a decision.
