The Ann Arbor Awesome Foundation is helping fund free bike valet service at some Ann Arbor events and efforts to plant edible landscapes and perennials .
Jesse Tack of Abundant Michigan, Permaculture Ypsilanti thinks the grant will make a huge difference to his group. It will use the money to purchase the necessary tools to transform mono-crop land at Dawn Farm and elsewhere in the community. The tools include scythes, back-pack compost tea sprayers, pruners, and berry rakes.
Bike Ann Arbor will buy equipment needed to offer free bike valet service at the Sonic Lunch Series and during the Ann Arbor Summer Festival's Tuesday Bike Nights.
Ann Arbor Awesome offers a one-thousand dollar grant each month to provide seed funding for innovative projects created by people in the area.
