More teachers may soon populate classrooms in Ann Arbor schools. It is among the topics of discussion to be held at Wednesday night's Board of Education meeting at Forsythe Middle School.
The district's executive director of finance will present an update of proposed budget amendments. That includes an additional $1 million for more staff. Board member Susan Baskett says student enrollment went up.
"They may not have fit in the number of classrooms that we already have, so we may have to had to hire teachers. Of course, then there's the changes in staffing through the retirement and people moving away."
The board will also discuss a program called Project Read to help students who are having problems reading.
