The director of CultureSource and chair of the Michigan Arts Council Omari Rush joins 89.1 WEMU's Lisa Barry for a conversation about the many different visual arts events happening around Washtenaw County right now and in the coming weeks:
Lisa and Omari are joined by special guests Mary Thiefels of the Neutral Zone in Ann Arbor and local artist and juror for the upcoming juried art competition Lavinia Hanachiuc.
The 36th Potential Art Exhibit opens to the public at the Neutral Zone on April 21st. Some 400 student artists submitted projects for the exhibit. Around 100 of them will be on display and the top winners will share a $1000 prize.
There was also discussion about a family-friend event taking place at the University of Michigan Museum of Art and a creative collage party at Cultivate Coffee in Ypsilanti. Rush also talks about the upcoming Arts Advocacy Day where he will be speaking in Lansing.
