In this edition of "In the Public Interest," our bi-weekly conversation with the League of Women Voters of the Ann Arbor Area, WEMU's Lisa Barry talks with league member Terri Wilkerson about why the league is advocating for a complete shutdown of the major, underwater oil pipeline that travels under the Straits of Mackinac.

Lisa Barry talks with League member Terri Wilkerson about Line 5 and why the League supports complete decommissioning of this 66 year-old pipeline that takes a 645-mile shortcut through Michigan and then back to Canada with the majority of the 22,500,000 gallons of oil it carries. Terri’s research is documented on the website she created, www.RetireLine5.org.
