The City of Ann Arbor is moving forward with its Safe Social Distancing Outdoors project as a result of COVID-19.
City Council Member Kathy Griswold from the second ward says the city is considering temporarily converting the Broadway Bridge from a four-lane to a two-lane road. The extra space would be used to create additional pedestrian walking space to allow for social distancing. But Griswold says some issues have come up.
Council Member Griswold: And then you have bike lanes and pedestrian and outside lanes. How do you have cars making right and left-hand turns without endangering the pedestrian?
North 4th Avenue is another area the city considering for the Safe Social Distancing Outdoors project.
