EMU To Continue Making Masks Indefinitely

EMU

Eastern Michigan University says their temporary mask-making initiative has become a permanent program.  At least for now.

Engage @ EMU has made over 5,000 masks for medical personnel and local residents since March.  It’s a project that was scheduled to end in July, but the group continues to get requests.  Kristen Klochko is a spokesperson for Engage @ EMU.

Kristen Klochko: So, we received a grant from GameAbove, which is an EMU organization. So, they donated $10,000 to this cause for EMU PPE project.

Engage @ EMU does charge for orders over a thousand.  The mask-making program is now included as an option in EMU’s student work-study program.
