Michigan Medicine has implemented visitor restrictions for its emergency department, hospitals, and clinics due to an increase in COVID-19 cases.
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, no visitors are currently allowed in the adult emergency department at Michigan Medicine. At the adult hospitals and theC.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, only one visitor per day for every adult is allowed and two for pediatrics. Mary Masson is a spokesperson for Michigan Medicine and says visitors are required to wear masks at all Michigan Medicine properties.
Mary Masson: Right now, we don’t have a definitive end date. We’re going to of course monitor the situation and hopefully we will get to a point where the community spread of COVID-19 is such that we can relax these restrictions.
At clinics, no visitors will be allowed for adult patients unless the patient has a cognitive or physical impairment that requires assistance. Overall, there are some exceptions for end-of-life care, and labor and delivery. For more information, click here.
