State Rep. Donna Lasinski Says The State Needs To Help Struggling Businesses During The Pandemic

A2Y Regional Chamber

52nd District State Representative Donna Lasinski from Washtenaw County was the featured speaker at the Ann Arbor Ypsilanti Regional Chamber’s annual Impact event, held virtually this year on December 18th.

Representative Lasinski, who was recently elected as the Democratic Leader of the Michigan House of Representatives, says health and the economy are two priorities she would like the state Legislature to focus on when addressing the pandemic.  She says public health procedures, such as wearing masks and maintaining social distance, will be essential in restoring consumer confidence.

State Representative Donna Lasinski: We saw that even when restrictions were lifted there were a lot of folks who continued to be reluctant to return to retail shopping. Brick and mortars, which are just so important to every community.

Lasinski says the state Legislature is working on allocating funding to provide financial support to struggling businesses that have been affected by the pandemic and to their employees who may have been laid off.
