City Extends DDA Tax Financing Plan

By Andrew Cluley

Ypsilanti, MI – Describing the revitilization of downtown Ypsilanti as a "work in progress", city officials have approed an extension of the Downtown Development Authority's tax increment financing and development plan.
City council approved an amendment last night that extends the plan through 2028, and will allow the DDA to capture development taxes in three new areas. That will allow the city to expand redevelopment efforts to the west side of the downtown area.
