Ann Arbor, MI – Arts organizations in Washtenaw County mean business. That's the bottom-line message of a study released Thursday night showing the economic impact of arts organizations in the county.
The study was commissioned by the Arts Alliance of the Ann Arbor Area. It showed that, overall, arts and cultural organizations pump 165-million dollars into the local economy. In addition, those organizations generated more than 26-hundred jobs, adding 57-million dollars in payrolls.
The data for the study was collected from the year 2003 from more than 30 arts organizations in the county.
