This week marks three-years since an Enbridge pipe-line burst and spilled roughly a million gallons of oil in the Kalamazoo River. As WEMU's Andrew Cluley reports, all of this time later, and the expensive clean-up is still underway.
The clean-up was hoped to be completed by the end of this year, but may end up spilling into next year.Stephan Hamilton is a Michigan State University professor and president of the Kalamazoo River Watershed Council. Hamilton told WEMU News the clean-up is in the final stages, but monitoring and cleaning small deposits of oil will continue well past the completion of the primary clean-up.
