Etched glass panels depicting images of trees in Ann Arbor will be installed above and under the Stadium Bridges.  City council has approved spending $385,000 on the final project funded by the old Percent For Art Program.

Chair of the Public Art Commission Bob Miller says "Arbor Winds" will be attractive around the clock.  That's thanks to LED lighting which will make the work visible day and night but shouldn't be a nuisance for homes in the area.

Miller says a good proposal was made even better thanks to feedback given by community members.  He anticipates the artwork will be installed sometime next year.

Like many, I first came to this area when I started school at the University of Michigan, then fell in love with the community and haven’t left. After graduating from U of M in the mid 1990’s I interned at WDET for several years, while also working a variety of jobs in Ann Arbor. Then in 1999 I joined the WEMU news team.
