Paperwork to recall Ann Arbor city council member Kirk Westphal from the 2nd ward has been filed.
The petition was filed after the council member voted in favor of killing one hundred deer this winter to control their population.
The paperwork states that the cull's population control is not supported by scientific evidence. The council member says he never read a study that reveals that a cull would be ineffective.
The Washtenaw County elections committee still needs to approve the recall petition to move forward.
