Washtenaw County Offering Mini Grants To Non-Profits

The Washtenaw County Office of Community and Economic Developmentis currently offering mini grants of up to $10,000 to non-profit groups. 

To qualify, you have to increase trade in the county, advertise local products, and attract tourists to the area.

Washtenaw County economic officer TonyVanDerworp says, in the past, a downtown retail assessment was conducted in Chelsea, Dexter and Manchester.  VanDerworp added that the county is becoming a bit more recession proof by relying less on large corporations and outside companies for jobs.
