A major high school robotics competition is taking place today and tomorrow in Ann Arbor.

Forty teams and their robots are competing in the "FIRST Stronghold" tournament at Skyline High School.  But the event is not just to see who wins the medieval theme competition in which the robots overcome obstacles on the playing field.  It motivates students, such as senior Michelle Wang from Skyline, to go into the fields ofScience, Technology, Engineering and Math.

"It's probable that engineering can be really, really fun and really interesting and engaging, and that's something that I want. And it's not the same thing over and over and over again."

The winners could make it all the way to an international robotics tournament.
