The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners will meet on April 20th, and a millage proposal is on the agenda.

The board will consider placing a road millage on the August2ndprimary ballot.  If approved, the 0.5 mills would generate over $7 million for road repairs during four years.

Commissioner AndyLaBarreplans to vote against it, because he believes there are more important issues to address.  They include mental health services and public safety.

At the same meeting, Commissioner LaBarre is expected to introduce a resolution that would ban unnecessary travel of county employees to North Carolina.  He is taking action after the governor in that state signed a billthat does not allow transgender individuals from using public bathrooms for the sex they identify with.
