A protest was held Thursday in Ann Arbor outside the McDonald's on Washtenaw Avenue near the Arborland Center.

The Toxic Taters Coalition wants the fast food chain to reduce the amount of pesticides their potato suppliers use.  So, they delivered a letter with the request and a bag of organic potatoes to the store manager.

Melissa Sargent from the Ecology Center in Ann Arbor helped organize the protest.

"You are to eat French fries at McDonald's. You are eating these potatoes that are sourced from this RDO farm in Minnesota that has heavy pesticide use."

The protestors also want McDonald's to help protect the health of those who live near the farms where pesticides are used for their products.
