15th District Court

The 15th District Court in Ann Arbor has reopened its doors but with new COVID-19 guidelines.

Everyone who enters the building will be required to answer health screening questions, wear a mask, and respect social distancing guidelines.  No more than 10 members of the public will be allowed to be inside a courtroom at the same time.  Shryl Samborn is a court administrator and says they will continue to offer videoconferencing for court proceedings.

Shryl Samborn: That would be preferable to limit the number of people who are coming in and out of the building and the potential for staff and the public to be exposed to the virus.

To help minimize exposure, the clerk’s office has also set up dropboxes in the lobby for court documents, such as pleadings, that don’t require a face-to-face transaction.
