Dear WEMU Friends: This is it. The last day of WEMU's Spring Pledge Drive. More than $140,000 has been pledged since March 13; if yours was among them, please accept our grateful thanks. If you have not yet made your gift to WEMU, please do so now to help us raise the last $58,000. So, now it comes down to you and your relationship with WEMU. Is local radio important to you? Or is it a thing of the past? Is there still an engaged audience for live-hosted jazz and blues? Or is syndication the way to go? In an area rich with public radio, WEMU is a risk taker. Despite its higher costs, we maintain a hyper-local, dual format based on news and music because you have told us that's what's important to you. This format requires greater resources than network-heavy formats, especially human resources. But we think it's worth it. Do you? It's the last day of our Spring Pledge Drive. We must have $58,000 to reach our $200,000 goal. If you have already given a gift this spring, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you have not, please make your gift now. WEMU's future depends on it. Sincerely,
|
