Thursday marks the start of the third annual EcoJustice and Activism Conference.
The three-day event is being held at Eastern Michigan University and will address concerns such as animal rights, water and air quality issues, and social justice.
Rebecca Martusewicz an EMU professor says, "The focus of this year's conference is belonging", Martusewicz said, "learning together to value human and more than human communities."
Martusewicz says more than a hundred presenters are attending this year's conference, with some of them coming from as far away as Finland.
