Eastern Michigan University has a new Associate Vice President for Student Affairs.
Phillips comes to EMU from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, where he serves in a similar capacity.
EMU spokesperson Geoff Larcom says Phillips comes to Eastern with a wealth of experience in helping students succeed. That includes helping with housing, academic advising and times of crisis.
Phillips' responsibilities also include improving student retention, development and well-being, and student engagement with the university.
Dr. Calvin Phillips' appointment is effective June 16th, pending approval by the EMU Board of Regents.
