Lyndon Township's Planning Commission will take its time reviewing a proposed sand and gravel mine. They have tabled for six months McCoig Materials special land use application for the site on M-52 across from Green Lake.
Community member Mary Jane Eder has mixed thoughts on the decision. She understands the planning commission has a lot of information to consider so a delay makes sense. However Eder wishes the community could have heard McCoig officials answer questions from the planning commission.
The company's response to written questions from the planning commission will be available to the public later this week.
Eder says they are planning a fen walk next month to let people see the unique wetland that they fear will be damaged if sand mining is allowed on Stofer Hill.
