Eastern Michigan University is now recognized as a doctoral institution by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education rankings system.
EMU spokesperson GeoffLarcom says this will change the way EMU is viewed in the academic community:
“It’s an indication of the increasing level of scholarship and indeed the level of education available at Eastern Michigan University.”
The Carnegieclassification system is a national framework for American institutions of higher education.
