The Ypsilanti Township clerk's office will not process passport requests from now through March 11th.

It all has to do with the Michigan primary presidential election coming up on March 8th.  Lisa Garrett is the deputy clerk for YpsilantiTownship.

"We do this typically just before and during the week of all elections, because the clerk's office also administers all the elections for Ypsilanti Township. So, it's just something that we do so we can focus on the elections the first couple of weeks before and the week of."

If you need to request a passport, you can do so at your local post office.
