RESOURCES:

MI E-I-B-C Senior Advisor Dan Scripps says the economic impact of clean energy manufacturing is $7.2 billion each year. This is from two reports we commissioned in 2012 that found a $2.3 billion economic impact from energy efficiency manufacturing and $4.9 billion from renewable energy manufacturing. Those reports arehere and here.

The statistic that the RPS has contributed $2.9 billion in economic activity comes from the Michigan Public Service Commission, based on investments through the end of 2015. That report is here.

The statistic that energy efficiency programs saves $4 for every dollar invested also comes from an MPSC report(the actual figure for 2014 - the most recent year - is $4.38 for every dollar):

There were 87,000 jobs in Michigan's clean energy sector. That figure comes from a recent report released by Chicago-based Clean Energy Trust, using methodology from the US Department of Energy
