Renovation of Ypsilanti's historic Freighthouse has hit some obstacles.

Problems with the renovation arose recently prompting the YpsilantiCity Council to issue around $13,000 for additional work.

Susan Campbell is on the Friends of the Ypsilanti Freighthouse Board.  She says, even with the additional funding, the renovation is still within the budget of $300,000.

The budget we had to put together before, and the bids that were done, did not account for these particular problems that arose. Apparently, this is not unusual with very old buildings.

Campbell says a date for the reopening of the Freighthouse has not yet been set.
